Yesterday we got the wonderful news that the roll of Geralt of Rivia has been cast. To no other than Henry Cavill himself. Henry Cavill is mostly known for his role as Charles Brandon, Duke of Suffolk in The Tudors and as Superman/Clark Kent in the DC Cinematic Universe but can also be found starring in Stardust and in The Man from U.N.C.L.E. Henry Cavill has previously expressed his love for both the book series and the video games The Witcher loosely based on the books by Andrzej Sapkowski. We've heard talk about the TV series adaptation by Netflix for a while now. It will be an eight episode long season based of the books as supposed to the video game. Although the cult video game is hugely successful it is a story taking place after the stories of the books.

If you are doubtful as to how Henry Cavill will look as Geralt, as I was at first as well, fans have sorted that for you. With nicely done editing we can see what Cavill will look like in silver hair and beard and a few scars. Not too bad.
